Mr. Strosnider was born in Strasburg, VA on April 12, 1937, a son of the late Mark Clevenger and Gertrude Delana Bly Strosnider.  He was a 1955 graduate of Strasburg High School and one of three to receive the State Farmers Degree at Virginia Tech.  He was a life member of the Strasburg Christian Church where he was a Deacon, Elder, CMF, and part of the disciples Sunday school class.  He was a member of the Spurmont Masonic Lodge #98 and Scottish Rites, and the Strasburg Moose.

Allen worked for Bauserman Transfer, Time DC and retired from Roadway Express in 1997, but still loved Mack trucks and farming so he continued working for his best friend Roy McDonald at Springwood Farms until the age of 79.  From age nine Allen spent most of his time at his grandparents’ dairy farm.  After his grandfather passed away, he helped Mrs. Mae through his senior year of high school then joined the U.S. Air Force to serve his country for four years.

Allen loved farming and animals, especially his horse.  He loved trail riding, his two trips to Jackson Hole, Wyoming with his special friends, rodeos with his sons, train trips to New York City and Boston.  Allen loved the Lord, his family, and friends but especially his granddaughter Dudley Ann.

Alzheimer’s takes its toll but thanks to his caregivers Kathy Denton and Roger McDonald for their help on this journey.  Also, the staff of Greenfield Reflections and Blue Ride Hospice for their special care.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Clark E. Strosnider.
