Charles Edward "Chuck" McDonald 65, a resident of Strasburg passed away Saturday, October 8, 2016 at his residence. Military honors will be conducted by the Shenandoah American Legion Post 77, Strasburg, VA. A graveside service for Mr. McDonald will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the Boehm Cemetery, 3582 John Marshall Highway, Strasburg, VA with Rev. Douglas Bowers officiating. He was born in Winchester, VA on February 6, 1951 a son of the late Howard Ray and Anna Mae Grandstaff McDonald, Sr. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran and a retired Truck Driver. Chuck loved his family was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors. He was a member of Lebanon Lutheran Church, Shenandoah American Legion Post 77, Strasburg and a former member of the Strasburg Moose Lodge #403. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard Ray McDonald, Jr. and Ronald Lane "Buttons" McDonald and a sister, Bonnie Lou McDonald. Survivors include his wife, Paula McCartney McDonald of Strasburg, VA; his children, Sondra Ritenour and husband, Chris of Strasburg, VA, Tiffany Watts and husband Brandon of Martinsburg, WV and Heather Campbell and husband Mark of Buena Vista, VA; his grandchildren, Faith Ritenour, Scott Ritenour, Dakota Dillinger, Tristan Dodson, Caden Dodson, Kenleigh Watts, Emmalyn Dodson, Kensington Watts, Mark Campbell, and Brandon M.C. Watts, Jr. and his siblings, Shirley Himelright and Roger of Manassas, VA and James McDonald and wife, Barbara of Montgomery, AL. Pallbearers will be James Good, Chris Good, Dwayne Hassett, Don Miller, Chris Venable and Dan Pesta. Honorary pallbearers will be Sean McDonald, Chuck Hodson and members of the Strasburg High School Class of 69. The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6-8:00 P.M.
