Celia "Diane" Jordan Obituary

VIDEO LINK FOR MRS. JORDAN HAS BEEN UPDATED

Celia “Diane” Jordan, age 77 of Toms Brook, VA was called home by our Heavenly Father to join her husband, mother, and father, who went before her. She transitioned from her earthly body to her heavenly body while wrapped in the arms of her loving family at her residence on Monday, April 12, 2021.   At this time, Heaven gained its most precious angel and the best Mom and Grandmother that one could ever ask for.

A funeral service for Mrs. Jordan will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 15, 2021 at the Waterbrook Brethren Church, Edinburg, VA with Pastor Jim Corbitt and Reverend Kent Bennett officiating.  Visitation with the family will occur immediately prior to the service and burial will follow in Sunset View Memorial Gardens in Woodstock, Va.  The service will be livestreamed and saved for future viewing at this link: https://boxcast.tv/view/live-broadcast-hxj6s1k7h6lhqfcvu4nm   Guests who choose to attend in person will be required to wear a mask and observe social distancing.

Mrs. Jordan was born in Washington, D.C., the daughter of the late Thurman Earl Williams and Lucy McGhee Williams.  Mrs. Jordan grew up in a tight knit family in Northern Virginia.

In her early career, Diane worked at the Executive Office Building in Washington, D.C.  She recently vividly recalled the day that President John F. Kennedy was assassinated and how they worked all night to clean out JFK’s possessions to move in President Lyndon B Johnson’s.  After moving to The Shenandoah Valley, she worked as a secretary at Maurertown Brethren Church and more recently as a medical coder for Dr. Harold Miller, Jr., Dr. Marc Read, Dr. Joseph Haydu, Dr. Laurel Tschirgi, and Dr. Eloise Haun.

Mrs. Jordan was a member of Waterbrook Brethren Church where she developed life-long friendships with Caroline Juliano and Betty Funkhouser.  They enjoyed having prayer group and lunch with each other.  Mrs. Jordan loved trips to Ocean City, MD with her beloved husband, children and grandchildren.  In addition, she enjoyed trips to Oak Island, NC to visit with her nieces and nephews on the Jordan side of her family.

Mrs. Jordan did not know a stranger.  Her kindness and love for her family and neighbors will be felt for generations.  When her children would tell her, “I love you,” her response was always “I love you more than life itself.”

Survivors include her loving children Shelby Jordan-Kline (Greg Coons) of Toms Brook VA and Kim Jordan of Norfolk, VA; one grandson, Corey Wills of Toms Brook, VA; her sibling Donald Earl Williams of Strasburg, VA; a brother-in law, Jesse Jordan of Arlington TX; a sister-in-law Dorothy Engle of Plattsmouth, NE along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Greg Coons, Marc Williams, Jonathan Williams, Gunnar Williams and Howard McDonald.  Honorary Pallbearer is Ralph Sine.

The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork St., Winchester, VA 22601 or a charity of one’s choice.
