Obituary

Brenda Kay Miller, 62, a resident of Strasburg, VA passed away Friday, March 31, 2023, at her home while surrounded by her family.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at Stover Funeral home from 6-8 p.m.. The family requests that you wear bright colors and/or anything flamingo in honor of Brenda.

A celebration of life through a weekend of camping and celebration is scheduled for a tentative date of September 16, 2023, at the Strasburg Legion Lot to remember the amazing woman Brenda Kay Miller was and to honor the legacy of the fighter she left behind.

Brenda was born in Woodstock, VA on December 22, 1960, the daughter of the late Arthur Edward and Lucy Maxine Hottle Beydler. She was a member of the Strasburg Ladies of the Moose 1319, an Aries member of the Strasburg Eagles chapter 4186, and a charter member of the Shenandoah Valley Trailer Trash Camping Group. She worked as a production worker at Carpers Wood Creations for over 20 years.  She married the love of her life, Larry Wayne Miller, on December 1, 1978. Together, they enjoyed many adventures, including taking cruises all over the world, visiting their favorite beach spots, camping on simple weekend trips, and relaxing on the back patio when the sun was shining. She enjoyed making memories with friends, especially in the pool with her daughters and grandchildren.  Brenda was a light of joy, always positive and loving, and she always saw the cup as half full. She was a lover of puzzles and all things flamingo.  Brenda made her mark in the world and in the lives of those she met and loved. She inspired those around her with her courage, bravery, and her consistent positive attitude in life and with her battle. It would be wrong to say that Brenda lost her battle because she never stopped fighting.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Roger Beydler.

Survivors include her loving and devoted husband Larry Wayne Miller; her two daughters, Valerie Lynn Sherman, and husband Chad, and Marcia Kay Baker and husband Jason, all of Strasburg; her grandchildren, Blake E. Plaugher, Wyett A. Plaugher, Makayla N. Orndorff, Carter A. Orndorff, Madison E. Sherman, Abigail J. Sherman, and Alex Baker; her sister Diane Tucker, of Strasburg and her spoiled baby girl Joy-Joy, their miniature schnauzer.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork Street, Winchester, VA. 22601.

You may sign the guestbook and submit condolences to the family online at www.stoverfuneralhome.com.
