Billy M. Hitt Billy Mark Hitt, age 74, of Strasburg passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center, Winchester. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Sunday, April 7th, at Lebanon Lutheran Church with Pastor J.D. Cutlip officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Church Cemetery. Mr. Hitt was born May 6, 1938 in Shenandoah, Page County, a son of Virginia Aleshire Hitt of Luray and the late Coe Willie Hitt. He was a member of Lebanon Lutheran Church, Strasburg Moose Lodge No. 403 and was retired from Moore Brothers Construction with 33 years of service. Billy was a crane operator, a welder and did a number of jobs over the years for Moore Bros. He loved spending time with his family, loved the outdoors and all of nature and especially hunting and fishing. Surviving with his mother are his wife, Carolyn Pangle Hitt; two daughters, Sharon Hitt Alexiou and husband, James of Leesburg; Marsha Ann Myers and husband, Scott of Vinton; four brothers, Coe W. Hitt, Jr. of Elkton, Jerry Hitt and David Hitt, both of Shenandoah and John Hitt of Luray; two sisters, Janie Stewart of Shenandoah and Katie Good of Luray; six grandchildren; Paul, Sarah, Rachel and Miriam Alexiou and Derek and Nathan Myers. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy and Ronald Hitt and a sister, Peggy Knight. Pallbearers will be James Alexiou, Scott Myers, Paul Alexiou, Richard Pangle, Delbert Pangle and James Pangle. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Baker, Pearlie Brill, Wayne Walker, Allen Strosnider, Floyd Ryman, Kenneth Wright and Coe W. Hitt, Jr. The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home, 177 No. Holliday St., Strasburg on Saturday from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.. The family will meet at the church on Sunday at 1:30 P.M.
