Betty Lou Windle Walden, age 89, a resident of Toms Brook, VA passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at Blue Ridge Hospice In-Patient Care Center in Winchester, VA.
A graveside service for Betty will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 5, 2021 at Riverview Cemetery with Rev. Robert Funkhouser officiating.
Betty was born in Winchester, VA on November 7, 1931 the only child of the late Stanley Allen and Ruth Stickley Windle. She was a member of Building Faith Church at Mt. Hebron and retired from Shenandoah Memorial Hospital where she worked as an Administrative Assistant. Betty Was a member of the Shenandoah American Legion Post 77 Ladies Auxiliary for over 50 years where she served locally and on a state level. She loved bingo, word search and watching her sports on tv. She was the wife of the late William Raymond "Bill" Walden.
Survivors include her children Michael Walden, Sr. (Bettie) of Strasburg, VA, Patrick Walden (Carolyn) of Toms Brook, VA; her grandchildren, Amanda Palmer, Michael Walden, Jr., Patricia Stine, Heather Grabenstein; step grandchildren Monica Martin and Jennifer Simon; 16 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great grandchildren along with a special friend Linda Weakley.
