Barry W. J. Rourke 72, a resident of Toms Brook, VA, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Blue Ridge Hospice In-Patient Care Center, Winchester, VA. A memorial service for Mr. Rourke will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 12, 2017 at the Stover Memorial Chapel with Pastor Keith Warren officiating. Full military honors will be conducted by Shenandoah American Legion Post 77, Strasburg, VA. Barry was born in Mount Union, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, December 20, 1944 a son of the late Bernard and Erma Amelia Elizabeth Wakefield Rourke. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and son. Barry was a veteran having retired from the U.S. Marine Corps then retired as an armed security guard. He loved his furry kids, the outdoors, wildlife and hunting. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Beatrice and a great grandson, Easton. Barry was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Survivors include his wife, Rosannia Sullivan Rourke, one sister, Deanne and husband Spence; two sons, Chris and wife Diane, Ricky and wife Jesse; two daughters, Lisa and Fiancé Dea, Bernadette and husband Shane; twelve grandchildren, Anthony, Devin, Dakota, Corbin, Camrin, Christopher, Austin, Seth, Brittany, Shayna, Savannah and Tiffany; five great-grandchildren, Vincent, Raighlynn, Bryson, Mason, Ava, Kaylee and Zayden; his furry kids, Scooby, Lulu, Goofy, Peanut and Odie and his bird Polly whom he loved to share his crackers with.
