Alton Parker "Sonny" Taff, Jr., age 80, of Strasburg passed away Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Winchester Medical Center. Graveside rites will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Riverview Cemetery, Strasburg with Pastor Tony Raker officiating. Military honors will be conducted by Shenandoah American Legion Post No. 77, Strasburg. Mr. Taff was born July 26, 1931 in Alabama, a son of the late Alton Parker and Virginia Burns Taff, Sr. He was a member of the Church Of Christ, a veteran of the United States Marines, was a member of the Wardensville, WV VFW Post No. 2102 and Shenandoah American Legion Post No. 77, Strasburg. He was the owner of A.P. Taff & Son Plumbing and Heating. Surviving are his wife, Ruth Annabel Miller Taff; a daughter, Phoebe Ann Taff of Glendale, Arizona; two sons, Tracy Alton Taff and wife, Jackie of Strasburg and Samuel Jason Taff and wife, Holly of Woodstock; a brother, Bob Taff of Strasburg; a sister, Mary Miller of Strasburg; seven grandchildren, Heather Lee and husband, Timothy, Pamela Burke and husband, Jason, Cpl. Andrew Taff, Ryan Taff, Emily Taff, Aaron Taff and Sarah Taff and three great-grandchildren. The family will meet at the cemetery at 1:45 P.M. on Wednesday.
