Virginia Ann "Ginny" Bowers, 75, of Strasburg, VA passed away Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal, VA.

Mrs. Bowers was born in Winchester, VA on January 8, 1949, a daughter of the late Carroll and Mary Elizabeth Carpenter Hawkins.  She was a graduate of James Wood High School and a member of Liberty Baptist Church of Stephens City, VA.  Mrs. Bowers worked as an Administrative Assistant for Shenandoah Pride Dairy in Winchester, VA before retirement. She was the co-owner of Douggin Collectables and served as the secretary of Winchester Coin Club for many years.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a step grandchild.

Survivors include her husband Robert Douglas "Doug" Bowers of Strasburg, VA; her stepchildren Kathy Kirby of Winchester, VA and Scottie Bowers of El Paso, TX; six step grandchildren; one brother Bobby Hawkins (Mary Ann) of Winchester, VA.

A funeral service for Mrs. Bowers will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Liberty Baptist Church, 1400 Fairfax Pike, White Post, VA 22663 (three miles East of Stephens City) with Pastor Kyle Sheeley officiating.  Burial will follow in Lebanon Church Cemetery, Strasburg, VA.

The family will receive friends at Liberty Baptist Church on Monday, July 1, 2024, from 6-8 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Lewis Fries, Jim Hudak, Garry Pearson, Frank Adams, Sean O'Conner, and Mike Hurst.

Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Reiger, Steve Hurst, and Kyle Chrisman.

The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to Liberty Baptist Church, 1400 Fairfax Pike, White Post, VA 22663.
