Valerie Diane Wean of Strasburg, VA passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021.

A celebration of life service for Valerie will be held at the Elizabeth Furnace Campground in Fort Valley at 1:30 P.M. Sunday, October 17, 2021. A reception will follow at 3:00 P.M. at the Strasburg Park. The family requests that everyone wear a mask for the service and reception. The family respects those who cannot attend due to the current pandemic.

Valerie was a graduate of Loudoun Valley High School and devoted her life to helping children and adults with special needs.  Besides spending time with her family and friends Valerie had a passion for cooking, shopping, and her children's sporting events.  Valerie had a bright and energetic personality and could sense when people needed her help and would often put other people's needs before her own.  She enjoyed leading the Girl Scouts and participating in church activities.  Valerie always put others first, had a great sense of humor and #webleedpurple for the Strasburg Rams. She is survived by her four children Ava 12, Lionel "DJ" 11, Gary 9, Donovan" Donnie" 4 and life partner Lionel Sidberry.  Also surviving is her maternal grandparents Robert and Barbara Cunningham of Ringgold, GA; her father Gary Franklin Wean Sr. of Middletown, VA; her mother Cathy Atkinsson of Pamplico, SC; her siblings Angela Wean of Bristow VA, Gary wean jr. of Strasburg, VA, Shelby Wean of Strasburg along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family ask that expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to the Sidberry children's trust fund or food and gift cards be donated to the nurses at Winchester Medical Center, Critical Care Unit 4.
