Tommy Michael Hamman, age 71, a resident of Strasburg, VA passed away Saturday, December 19, 2020 at his residence.

A funeral service for Mr. Hamman will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 28, 2020 at Stover Memorial Chapel with Robert Funkhouser officiating.  Burial will follow in Sunset View Memorial Gardens, Woodstock, VA.

Mr. Hamman was born in the Mt. Olive community of Shenandoah County on August 31, 1949 a son of the late Robert Franklin and Carrie Frances Bott Hamman.  Tommy worked for the Farmers Exchange Livestock Market in Winchester, VA for 58 years and the Woodstock Livestock market for over 50 years.  He was a farm vet for Shenandoah County for many years and had a livestock hauling company for several years.  Tommy loved Christmas, was a hard-working simple man who enjoyed life, loved animals and was known for always feeding the strays.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Wanda Wakeman.

Mr. Hamman is survived by his loving and beloved wife of 46 years, Barbara Jean Hamman of Strasburg and his dogs Naughty Lewis and Little Man.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Spiker, Jr., Ronnie Combs, Roger Kenny, Steve Copp, Daryl Bowman, and Scott Strosnider.

The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m.
