Terry E. Dawson, 65, of Strasburg VA, passed away on April 10, 2026, after complications from a hard-fought battle with diabetes.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and Christian. He found great joy in playing music to worship the Lord, especially the last couple years with the group The Band of Brothers. He loved and shared a special bond with his dogs, Rocket and Banjo. He will be remembered for his faith, devotion, strength, and the deep love he had for his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Irene Dawson; his daughters, Tabitha Copeland (Derek Copeland) and Leah Ridgeway; five granddaughters, McKenzie Miller (Justin Miller), Chloe Copeland (Ashton Baker), Emma Copeland (Cole Hollar), Laney Copeland (Isaiah Fox) and Ryleigh Copeland; as well as three great-granddaughters, Norah, Ivy, and Clara Miller. He is also survived by his siblings Ed Sparks, Debbie Pruitt (Ronnie), Jesse Dawson Jr. (Tammie), Dianne Daniels (Joey), Tommy Dawson (Jettie), Dara Dawson, Jeramie Dawson (Kendra), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jesse Dawson, his mother Mary Lou Dawson, and sister Donna Stewart.

A celebration of life for Terry will be held on Wednesday, April 15 at 2:00 PM at LifePoint Church in Front Royal, Virginia. The family requests everyone come dressed in any shade of green.

The family asks that expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to Stover Funeral Home to assist with final expenses.

Terry will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. In the words of Matthew 25:23, Terry has truly earned his rest: “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
