Shirley Gene "Sammy" Copeland 79, a resident of Strasburg, VA passed away Thursday, October 28, 2021, at his residence.

Services for Sammy will be conducted privately with the family.

Sammy was born in Star Tannery, VA on June 8, 1942, a son of the late Richard Alger and Juanita Virginia Webster Copeland. He was retired from Fleetwood, was an avid hunter, enjoyed searching for arrowheads, fishing, and doing carpentry.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Doryl Copeland.

Survivors include his wife Brenda Middleton Copeland of Strasburg; his children Troy Copeland (Terrena), Tony Copeland (Tealaka) all of Strasburg, VA and Amy Horton (Nick) of Stephens City, VA; his grandchildren Myranda, Dylan, McKenzie, Kerrigan, Gabriel, Sophia, and Naomi; his great grandchildren April and Fynn; his siblings Shelava Norris of New Market, VA, Fay Hockman of Strasburg, VA, Butch Copeland of Strasburg, VA along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
