Ruth Jean Spicer, 72, of Star Tannery, VA passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at her home in Star Tannery.

Mrs. Spicer was born in Maryland on July 31, 1952, a daughter of the late Edward Carol and Ruth Geneva Sheeler Hinton Spicer and was a former employee of Canteen Vending.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Samuel Luther Spicer.

Survivors include her children Joe Samuel Spicer, Boyd Jonathan Spicer and Jason Edward Spicer; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; her siblings Richard Carol Hinton and Cheryl Lee Stone along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service for Mrs. Spicer will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, January 27, 2025, at Stover Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Lebanon Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Joe Spicer, Boyd Spicer, Jason Spicer, William Spicer, Dustin Spicer, and Jack Spicer.
