Robert Todd Helmick 43, formerly of Strasburg, VA left this life to go on the next one on Tuesday, September 27, 2022. Chances are he was chasing a squirrel or other similar furry critter as he passed through Heaven's gates.

Todd was born in Woodstock, VA on March 7, 1979, the son of Ralph Helmick and Tracey Burner Helmick.  Todd lived his life with an ever-changing "tough guy" appearance that could never really disguise his kind, sweet soul. From his years volunteering with the fire department to his attempt to help save every stray kitten that needed a home, his giving spirit would shine through his tough exterior.

Todd leaves behind his parents Tracey Helmick of Eureka MT and Ralph Helmick and wife Kim of Strasburg VA; his grandmother Zadie Helmick; his siblings Carrie and Ashley, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends that were like family.

A memorial service for Todd will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 8, 2022, at Strasburg United Methodist Church with Rev. John Haynes, Jr. officiating.   The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations made to your local animal shelter, in honor of Todd, would be appreciated.
