Richard "Ricky" Louis Nugent, 66, of Strasburg, VA passed away Thursday, October 9, 2025 at INOVA Hospital, Falls Church, VA.

Ricky was born in Lake Charles, LA on March 15, 1959, a son of Wanda Jane Fontenot Nugent Rousell and the late Paul Robinson Nugent.  He worked in the HVAC industry for 46 years.  Ricky loved fishing and was a founding member of Shenandoah Valley Bass Association.  He was also a boat captain for many years and served on the board of the Frederick County Youth Bass Association.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife Cathy Nugent of Strasburg, VA; his two sons Paul Nugent (Jennifer) of Ohio and Matt Nugent (Michelle) of Strasburg, VA; his grandchildren Riley Nugent, Morgan Nugent, Wesley Nugent, and Hunter Nugent; his siblings Greg Nugent and Tammy MacDonald; a special sister-in-law Bonnie Kline of Strasburg, VA along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of life gathering for Ricky will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Stover Funeral Home and Crematory, Strasburg, VA.
