Richard Courtney "Dickie" Walter age 70, a resident of Middletown passed away Sunday at his residence. A funeral service for Mr. Walter will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Stover Memorial Chapel with Rev. David Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Middletown. He was born in Winchester on December 5, 1940 a son of the late Carson Lee and Helen Long Walter. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and was retired from Ashworth Brothers where he worked for twenty seven years. He was a member of the Winchester Fraternal Order of Eagles 824. Survivors include his wife, Margaret S. Campbell Walter of Middletown; step children, Susan Varner, Boyce, Richard Shull and wife Nancy, Martinsburg, WV; a sister, Sandy Brown, Strasburg; step grandchildren, Landora Khun and Courtney Varner; step great grandchildren, Susan Victoria Shull, Alex Riley, Hunter Varner and Joseph Riley; Nephews, Robert Brown, Jr. and Kelly Brown; a niece, Sabra Bauserman; great nieces and Nephews, Carson Bauserman, Kristen, Brandon and Jesse Brown. Pallbearers will be Robert Brown, Jr., Jesse Brown, Kelly Brown, Bryan Bauserman, Richard Shull, Courtney Varner, Terry Combs, and Larry Allder. Honorary Pallbearer will be Grover Giffin.
