Obituary

Ray M. Zook, 98, of Bonita Springs, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on April 16, 2026.

He was born on July 1, 1927, in Belleville, Pennsylvania, to David and Bertha Zook. Ray was one of eight children, having four brothers and three sisters. At a young age, he accepted Christ as his Savior. Ray proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he was part of the Signal Corps. Known for his exceptional memory and intellect, he scored off the charts on aptitude testing and was entrusted with responsibilities in logistics. Following his military service, Ray had a distinguished career as a travel agent for the White House press, serving under seven United States presidents. His work allowed him to travel extensively and to see the world. Later in life, Ray and his wife made a renewed commitment and rededicated themselves to the Lord. Ray faithfully served with China Outreach Ministries, investing his time and energy into sharing the Gospel with Chinese students who were in the United States attending college. He was also a faithful member of Christian Fellowship Church in Ashburn, Virginia, Oakwood Baptist Church in Anderson SC and attended Gospel Baptist Church, Bonita Springs Fl. Ray’s life was marked by faith, service, and dedication—to his country, his work, and most importantly, his Savior. He leaves behind a legacy of steadfast devotion and a testimony of God’s grace. Ray is survived by his sister Esther Lauver and brother David Zook.

A funeral service for Ray will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2026, at Restoration Fellowship Church. Burial will follow in Fishers Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Ray gave generously throughout his life. In lieu of flowers, please consider supporting a ministry or charity that is making a meaningful impact on both mankind and the Kingdom.
