Ralph D. Higgins, Sr., 75, a resident of Fort Valley, VA passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his family.

A celebration of life for Mr. Higgins and his late wife Judy Nelson Higgins will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Stover Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Rinard officiating.

Mr. Higgins was born in Lexington, VA on February 6, 1948, a son of the late Herman and Goldie Horn Higgins, Sr.  Ralph and his brother Richard owned and operated Higgins Brothers Siding.  He and his wife Judy loved to travel, especially out west panning for gold.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Judy Nelson Higgins; a son Herman "Joey" Mason; siblings Effie Robinson, Sam Higgins, and Herman Higgins, Jr.

Survivors include his children David Higgins (Tiny) of Strasburg, VA, Danny Higgins (Tammy) of Lebanon Church, VA, Dawne Higgins of Strasburg, VA, Jody Higgins of Strasburg, VA; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; siblings Richard Higgins of Bentonville, VA, Mildred Van Ness of Winchester, VA and Fred Higgins of Virginia Beach, VA; his beloved pet Flash along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Dementia Foundation in memory of Ralph and Judy.
