Paula Ann McCartney McDonald, 67, of Strasburg, VA went to be in the arms of our Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at her home surrounded by the love of her family.

Paula was born in Luray, VA on November 11, 1958, a daughter of the late James and Elva Frances Cloude McCartney. She was a 1977 graduate of Luray High School and a 2005 graduate of Lord Fairfax Community College with a degree in accounting. She was formerly employed by Wrangler, Perry Judds, and Bowman Andros and a former member of the Shenandoah American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She married the love of her life, Charles Edward “Chuck” McDonald, on June 26, 1982, and they spent 35 years together until his passing in 2016. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a lifetime friend Frances Kerney.

Survivors include her daughters Tiffany Watts of Richmond Hill, GA and Heather McDonald (Chris Rutz) of Strasburg, VA; her grandchildren Dakota, Kenleigh, Tristan, Caden, Emmalyn, Kensi, BJ, Mark, Kara and a great-grandson Axtyn; her brother John McCartney (Carolyn) of Bridgewater, VA; a sister Sherry Good of Luray, VA along with her chosen siblings Chuck Hodson and Mary Blick.

A memorial service for Paula is being planned for a later date to be announced.

Chuck Hodson, Sean McDonald, and Chris Rutz will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family asks that expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to Stover Funeral Home to assist with final expenses.
