Oliver "Butch" Orndorff, Jr., 57, of Maurertown died Tuesday, November 30th, 2010 at Winchester Medical Center. A memorial service for Mr. Orndorff will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 12:30 p.m. at Strasburg Christian Church with Reverend Geneal Wilson and Pastor James Miller officiating. A time of fellowship and luncheon will follow the service. Oliver was born in Winchester, VA on October 19, 1953, the son of Barbara Miller Orndorff and the late Oliver Phillip Orndorff, Sr. He graduated from James Wood High School in 1972, Lord Fairfax Community College in 1975, and Averett University in 2002 where he received a degree in Business Administration. He was employed for 28 years at the Middletown location for Fisher Diagnostics, where he served as Formulations Supervisor. Oliver loved his family, music, sprint car racing, the Redskins, bowling, and Scouting. He served for over 25 years as Scoutmaster and Asst. Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 5 of Strasburg, and he received the Vigil honor in the Order of the Arrow. Survivors include his devoted wife, Barbara Carrier Orndorff, of Maurertown; his son, Justin Robert Orndorff, of Maurertown; his daughter, Lauren Elizabeth Orndorff, of Staunton; a sister, Cynthia O. Clem, of Stephens City; a brother, Danny Orndorff, of Strasburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Cheryl O. Walker. Honorary pallbearers will be the past and present members of Boy Scout Troop 5. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. on Friday evening.
