Obituary

He went out with his boots on, riding his steel horse to heaven on the 17th of June 2026, in Front Royal, VA. Nathan Daniel Ruggles, devoted son and loving brother, leaves behind a legacy of generosity and kindness we will never forget.

Nathan was fearless in his adventures and enjoyed new challenges such as skydiving, training hard to complete various marathons and conquering the slopes from Virginia to California. He was an exceptional guitarist with a passion for music. Nathan founded and played for early 2, 000’s local metal band “Cradle to Kindle” and found immense joy in jamming with friends and encouraging others to utilize their musical talents. He stayed involved playing guitar for various music ensembles such as PS1510, Mike and Half Notes among many other musical projects. Firm in his faith, Nathan was a member of the Loudoun Valley Emmaus and volunteered with the Kairos Prison Ministry, sharing his musical gifts for the lord.

Nathan excelled in his career of 20 years in the water treatment community. With much dedication and hard work Nathan earned his class 1 water and class 1 wastewater operators licenses, making him a highly valuable asset to any water treatment facility. Utilizing his trouble shooting experience he cut the wastewater budget in half while also cutting the permit allowed pollutant in half gaining him recognition from the mayor and city council of Front Royal. Concluding his time at the Wastewater Treatment Facility Nathan decided to learn a new skill set working maintenance at Southeastern Container in Winchester, VA, where he was last employed.

Nathan is survived by his father, Daniel J. Ruggles (Trudy Ruggles); his mother Nancy L. Ruggles; his four brothers, Sean D. Slevin, David R. Ruggles (Beverly), Corey W. O’Donnell (Shannin); his sister Diane M. Manuel (Paul); his niece Belbyn Manuel; his nephew Travis Manuel along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many cherished friends.

Details of a memorial service, being held at a later date, will be provided to close family and friends as they become available.

We bid a fierce and loving farewell to the man who lived boldly, loved deeply and will forever remain in our hearts. Rest in peace sweet Nathan. June 6, 1985 – June 17, 2026.
