Mickey Mantle Renner, age 58, a resident of Star Tannery, VA passed away Friday evening at his home surrounded by his family after a lengthy battle of cancer. A funeral service for Mickey will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Gravel Springs Lutheran Church with Rev. Sonya Williams-Giersch officiating. Burial will follow in Gravel Springs Cemetery. Mickey was born in Woodstock, VA on December 21, 1956 a son of Eadline J. Renner and the late Guy William Renner. He was a long time employee of R.R. Donnelly and a member of Gravel Springs Lutheran Church. Mickey loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved riding his Harley with his brothers and friends. Mickey was very dedicated to his family and his many friends. Mickey is survived by his loving mother, Eadline J. Renner of Star Tannery, VA; his children, Darrell Renner and wife, Tyna of Sweet Water, FL, Corey Dalton, Christie Renner both of Strasburg, VA and Megan Renner of Wardensville, WV; siblings, Guy Dennis Renner of Star Tannery, VA, Deborah Renner Hulver and husband, Doug of Baker, WV and Ricky Berra Renner of Star Tannery, VA; four grandchildren; four nephews and two nieces. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a sister, Denise Ann Renner. Pallbearers will be Bud Drummond, Billy Richards Mark Connolly, Cliff Brill, Todd Elan, Rodney Clark, Dean Elbon and Mike Bennett. The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6-8 P.M.
