Margaret Ireson, 83, of Strasburg, VA passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, February 4, 2024.

Margaret was born in Shenandoah County, VA on September 7, 1940, a daughter of the late Henry Russell and Verdie Lee Whitmer Wood.  Margaret worked many jobs in her lifetime with her last at Daytona International Speedway NASCAR.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Wayne Wood and a sister Barbara Berry.

Mrs. Ireson is survived by her husband Wayne; a son Dennis R. Ireson; a daughter Renee Jones (Lee); brothers Gibson Wood (Carol) and Bobby Wood (Phan); longtime family friends Bob and Virginia McDonald; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life service for Mrs. Ireson will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2024, at Liberty Baptist Church with Pastor Keith Warren officiating.  Burial will follow at Panorama Memorial Garden.  A time of food and fellowship will be held at Liberty Baptist Church immediately following the interment.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to Liberty Baptist Church or Legacy Hospice.
