Lottie Mae Stout's Obituary

Lottie Mae Howlett Stout, age 79, a resident of Wardensville, WV passed away Monday, September 16, 2013 at Hawse Health and Rehab Center, Baker, WV. A graveside service for Mrs. Stout will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, September 19, 2013 at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Middletown, VA with Rev. Keith Warren officiating. She was born on August 13, 1934 to James V. and Celia Jane Harmon Howlett. She graduated from James Wood High School and entered the U.S. Air Force in 1952. She met Charles Owen Stout from Casper, Wyoming, and they married in San Antonio, TX on October 18, 1956. Lottie was honorably discharged in February 1957. Lottie and Charles adopted two children. Charles remained in the Air Force and traveled to many countries abroad before returning to Fort Mead, Maryland in 1972. Charles was honorably discharged in 1976 and they returned to their home in San Antonio, TX where he passed away in March 1977. Lottie became a Vista Volunteer from 1980-1984. She was an avid volunteer all her life with many other organizations. Lottie then moved to the Shenandoah Valley to be close to her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, and four brothers, Glasco, Vance, Mack and Clinton Howlett; two sisters, Ileen Howlett Webster, and Rachel Howlett Hicks. She is survived by her sister, Iva Howlett Boaz and a son along with many nieces and nephews.
