Kathleen May Shipe, age 85, a resident of Strasburg, VA passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at her residence.
A graveside service for Mrs. Shipe will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 18, 2020 at the St. Stephens Cemetery with Bobby Funkhouser officiating.
Mrs. Shipe was born in Shenandoah County, VA on October 29, 1935 a daughter of the late John Roy and Elsie Lena Plaugher Malone. Mrs. Shipe attended Toms Brook High School and retired from IAC, Inc. and worked for Aileen, Inc. as a seamstress for many years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Arvie Shipe and siblings, Donnie Malone, Robert Malone, Margaret Wilkins and Faye Wilkins.
Survivors include her children Gary Shipe (the late Donna) of Strasburg, VA, Karen Gentry (Kenneth) of Cross Junction, VA, Arvin Shipe (Jennifer) of Strasburg, VA; her grandchildren, Jason Shipe (Penny) of Maurertown, VA, Mellanie Shipe (Jay Lawler) of Strasburg, VA, Kevin Shipe (Amanda) of Basye, VA, Cassandra Breeden (Troy) of Warrenton, VA, Cody Shipe (Danielle) of Strasburg, VA, Tiffany Shipe (Dustan) of Front Royal, VA, Katie Rauschelbach (Karl) of Woodstock, VA and Natalie Gentry (Jake) of Cross Junction, VA; her great-grandchildren, Gary Wayne, Trentin, Kaleb, Jeslena, Kevy, Curtis, Kameron, Elizabeth, Zella, and Pazleigh along with two great-great-grandchildren, Aiden and Avery; one brother William Malone along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Jason Shipe, Kevin Shipe, Cody Shipe, Gary Wayne Shipe, Jay Lawler, Karl Rauschelbach and Troy Breeden.
