Karl Hermann Kopp 91, stepped peacefully into heaven on Tuesday, October 23, 2018. Mr. Kopp was born on March 28, 1927 in Waiblingen, Germany. Arriving in the U.S. as an industrious young man, he settled in Birmingham, Michigan and formed several companies servicing the automotive industry in Detroit. When not engineering for the auto industry in the Detroit area, he devoted his time to his loving family. While residing in Vero Beach, FL, he became an avid yachtsman and world traveler. At the ripe age of 81, he became a hobbyist farmer in VA. Karl was an active parishioner at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Mt. Jackson, VA and St. Francis of Assisi in Lewiston, MI. As a lover of life and a true humanitarian, he will be missed by and remembered by those who were so fortunate to share in his journey with us. Karl was preceded in death by his loving wife, Eleanor Otto of Grosse Pointe, Michigan. He was the eldest of five children and is survived by his brother, Fritz of Burton, Michigan and preceded in death by a sister, Marianne and brothers Guenther and Heinz. In addition to his siblings he is survived by his daughter Una Keys of Lewiston, Michigan and her four daughter, Kelly, Kayla, Carrie and Christa as well as two sons, George of Greenville, SC and David of Ormond Beach, FL and longtime companion, Susan Frank.
