Justin
Laidler
Feb 10, 1989 — Jul 20, 2026
Woodstock, VA
Justin Michael Laidler, 37, of Woodstock, VA and formerly of Strasburg, VA, passed away Monday, July 20, 2026, at his home in Woodstock while surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with ALS.
Justin was born on February 10, 1989, in Woodstock, VA the son of Cindy Lu Laidler and Edward “Eddie” Hott. He was a 2007 graduate of Strasburg High School and member of the Strasburg United Methodist Church. In 2005, at age sixteen, Justin joined the Strasburg Fire Department as a volunteer, beginning a career defined by dedication and professionalism. In 2010 he was hired by the City of Manassas, VA Fire and Rescue Department, where he spent fifteen years and rose to Master Technician while also serving as an Assistant Fire Marshal and supporting department logistics on his days off. Known for his discipline, physical fitness, and leadership, Justin earned deep respect among his colleagues. He took great pride in his role, especially driving Tower 1, and was equally known for his cooking and strong personality. He was a proud and active member of the Manassas Bureau of Fire, and his bond with the Manassas Volunteer Fire Company was second to none. In October 2025, Justin accepted a Lieutenant/Fire Marshall position with Frederick County, VA Fire and Rescue, medically retiring from there on April 30, 2026. Throughout his career, Justin built a reputation not just as a skilled firefighter, but also as a mentor, leader, and a faithful friend. Beyond the uniform, Justin was a devoted husband to his wife Brittany and a proud father to Grayson, Kellen, and Savannah. He was a man who found joy in the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. Justin’s quick wit, sharp sarcasm, and genuinely kind heart have left a lasting impression on everyone he has met.
Justin is survived by his loving and devoted wife Brittany Laidler; his beloved children Grayson Laidler, Kellen Laidler, and Savannah Laidler; his mother and father Cindy Lu Laidler and Edward “Eddie” Hott; his father and mother in-law Richard and Anna Davis; brothers and sisters in law Chris Davis (Randi), Dustin Davis (Stephanie), and Bryan Davis (Krissy); niece and nephews Austyn Davis, Maddox Davis, Gracie Davis, and Sutton Davis along with nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Justin is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Alfred and Mildred Laidler, two uncles George “Doug” Laidler and Robert “Bobby” Laidler and an Aunt Shirley Lemmermann.
