Julia Opal Beeler Heishman, age 81, a resident of Strasburg, VA passed away Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital.

A graveside service for Mrs. Heishman will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Panorama Memorial Gardens with Pastor Wayne Racey officiating.

Julia was born in Clary community of Shenandoah County, VA on December 31, 1939 a daughter of the late Julius Hopewell and Freddie Louise Himelright Beeler.  She was a member of Laurel Hill Christian Church, Strasburg Women of the Moose 1319, and the Shenandoah American Legion Auxiliary Unit 77.  Julia worked for Blue Bell of Woodstock, Tommy's, Strasburg Manufacturing, Strasburg Appliances, and Automotive Industries (IAC) of Strasburg.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ray Milton Heishman, Sr. and siblings, Margaret "Peggy" McDonald, Jean Walker, Ruthetta Smith and Erol "Buckshot" Beeler.

Survivors include her children Virginia Raye Taylor and husband Roy L. of Winchester, VA and Ray Heishman, Jr and wife Tracey of Strasburg, VA; one granddaughter, Tiffany Jade Heishman; step grandchildren, Kristina Marie Taylor Ferguson, and Dusty Woodrow Taylor; six step great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mae Catherine "Jack" Barrick and Hazel Brown; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins along with her special friend and travel partner, Patsy Himelright.
