Joseph Annanias Bly, age 99, a resident of Strasburg, VA passed away Monday, June 08, 2015 at Consulate Health Care in Woodstock, VA. A funeral service for Mr. Bly will be conducted at 2:00 Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Stover Memorial Chapel with Rev. Linda Harding officiating. Burial will follow in Lebanon Church Cemetery. He was born in Strasburg, VA on November 1, 1915 a son of the late, Pearl and Anna Belle Ryman Bly. Mr. Bly was a member of Strasburg Christian Church and worked for Sears in the appliance department for 20 years and then became a self-employed appliance repairman. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by siblings, Vallie Daniels, Mabel Boxwell, and Erma Bowman. Survivors include his loving wife, of 73 years, Veda Lucille Wisecarver Bly; his sisters, Gertrude Strosnider of Strasburg, VA, Anna Belle Horan of Strasburg, VA, and a half-brother, Richard Pearl Bly of Fredericksburg, VA Pallbearers will be Allen Strosnider, Rick Rinker, Mike Bowman, Robbie Parks, Irving "Skeeter" Getz, Mark Strosnider, Steve Strosnider, and Joe O'Hara.
