Jonathan Wesley Showalter 20, of Strasburg, VA passed away Friday, March 2, 2018. A memorial service for Jonathan will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Liberty Baptist Church with Dusty Dillman officiating. Jonathan was born in Harrisonburg, VA on August 4, 1997 a son of Kenneth Brian Showalter and Kimberly Ann Carlysle Vita. He was a 2015 graduate of Strasburg High School and Triplett Tech. Jonathan worked with his father, as a Lead Auto Technician, at Showalter Auto Repair in Strasburg, VA. Everyone who knew or met Jonathan had a friend for life. His kind heart and bright smile could make anyone's day brighter. Jonathan loved anything with a motor, whether it was fixing it, riding, or driving it. Jonathan's love for his family and friends was evident always and he will be deeply missed by his family and the many friends who knew and loved him dearly. Jonathan was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandmother, Hazel Mae Showalter and an uncle, Kevin Allen Showalter and an aunt, Dawn Michelle Bible. Survivors include his parents, Kenneth Brian Showalter of Strasburg, VA and Kimberly Ann Carlysle Vita of Maurertown, VA; his paternal grandparents, Mary and Roger Jenkins; his maternal grandparents, Ronald M. Carlysle of Maurertown, VA and Susan D. Carlysle of Woodstock, VA; his sisters, Taylor N. Showalter and Erika M. Thorpe; his girlfriend, Kristen Palmer; aunts, Dawn Clarke, Sandra Keller, and Diane Showalter; great aunt Helen Richards; Great uncle, Roger Showalter; uncles Marty Showalter, James Clarke IV, and James Keller. Cousins include: Tiffany Keller, Amber Keller, Veronica Showalter, Logan Showalter, Julia Showalter, Michael Dick, Savannah Clarke, Dylan Clarke, Seth A. Piercy and Shane A. Piercy. Extended family to include numerous cousins. Honorary pallbearers will be Aaron Smith, Aaron Mullins, Seth Piercy, Shane Piercy, Myles Price, Darryl Stead and Timmy Orndorff along with his countless other friends.
