Obituary

John William "Bill" Grim age 62, a resident of Strasburg passed away Sunday, January 9, 2011 at Winchester Medical Center. A funeral service for Mr. Grim will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Stover Memorial Chapel with Sonya Williams Giersch officiating. Burial will follow in Panorama Memorial Gardens, Warren County. He was born in Shenandoah County on October 23, 1948 a son of the late Harry Leo and Rose Marie Stover Grim. He was an employee of Rubbermaid in Winchester where he retired in October of 2008 with thirty two years of service. He was a member of the Strasburg Moose Lodge #403, and loved animals. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ray Lee Grim, Albert "Jack" Grim and Richard Leo "Sonny" Grim. Survivors include his children Melissa Himelright and husband Scott of Strasburg, and Toni Hershey and husband Dan of Strasburg; grandchildren Lauren Himelright, Jana Himelright, Nathan Hershey, Sara Hershey, and Hayden Hershey; his brothers, Harvey Russell Grim and wife Anne of Winchester, Harry Allen Grim and wife, Madeline of Mount Jackson, and Stanley Thomas "Tommy" Grim and wife, Rita of Stephens City; his faithful pet "Dixie Bell"; numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Harvey Grim, Harry A. Grim, Tommy Grim, Tom Edwards, Mike Grim, and Steve Helsley. The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home from 7-9 P.M. Wednesday evening. The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to the Shenandoah County Animal Shelter, 268 Landfill Road, Edinburg, VA 22824.
