John Elwood Sine 83 of Winchester, VA passed away Monday, October 17, 2022, at the Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center, Winchester, VA.
A funeral service for Mr. Sine will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 21, 2022, at Stover Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Ken Patrick officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m.
Mr. Sine was born in Montgomery County, Maryland on February 11, 1939, a son of the late Howard Raymond and Alberta L. Lowery Sine. Mr. Sine was a retired heavy equipment operator. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Claude Sine, Roy Sine, Dorothy Rooney and Ernestine Riley.
Survivors include his children Ellen Sager (Phil Rinker) of Moorfield, WV, Marjorie Griczin (James) of Carrollton, GA, and John Elwood Sine, Jr. (Terri Elks) of Richmond, VA; his grandchildren Bridget Billmeyer, James Griczin, Katelyn Griczin, and Richard Christian Sine; his great-grandchildren Jerin, Kalan, Renick, Kyron Junie, and Nixon; his sister June Smith along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork St., Winchester, VA 22601.
