John Walls Orndorff and Phyllis Wingfield Orndorff of Star Tannery, VA entered into their rest and are now awaiting the resurrection.  John was born June 7, 1928, and died August 1, 2024.  He was 96 years old.  Phyllis was born March 5, 1933, and died August 23, 2024.  She was 91 years old.

The couple were married on March 5, 1949, and celebrated their 75th anniversary earlier this year.  John and Phyllis were preceded in death by their son John W. Orndorff, Jr.

Survivors include their four children, Elizabeth Wilson (Don) of Dowagiac, MI, Mary Orndorff of Hedgesville, WV, Rebekah Childress (Zed) of Warrenton, VA, and Obed Orndorff of Strasburg, VA.  Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

A service for Mr. and Mrs. Orndorff was held August 26, 2024, at the Strasburg Seventh-day Adventist church where they were active members.  Mr. and Mrs. Orndorff were laid to rest in Riverview Cemetery, Strasburg, VA.
