Janet Marie Eastep Orndorff 81 of Manassas, VA, passed away Monday, September 5, 2022, at Evergreen Health & Rehabilitation Center in Winchester, VA.
A funeral service for Mrs. Orndorff will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2022, at Round Hill Church of the Brethren with Pastor Beverly Funkhouser officiating. Burial will follow in St. Matthews Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m.
Mrs. Orndorff was born in Shenandoah County, VA on October 3, 1940, a daughter of the late Maynard Beauman and Katie Mabel Dinges Eastep. She was a 1959 graduate of Toms Brook High School, attended business college, and was a member of the Round Hill Church of the Brethren. Janet retired from the Department of Homeland Security where she worked as a system analyst. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jeremiah Burdett Orndorff; brothers-in-law Robert "Squeaky" Orndorff, Jack Allen Orndorff, Sr., and Curtis Lake; sisters-in-law Patricia "Pat" Orndorff, Mary Lake and Doris Eastep; a nephew Jack Allen Orndorff, Jr.
Survivors include her daughter Judy Shockey and husband Steve of Manassas, VA; her step-grandchildren Stephen Brent Shockey, and Rebecca Lynn Shockey; four step great-grandchildren, and one step great-great-grandchild; sisters-in-law Gloria Jean Orndorff and Vallie Orndorff; a brother-in-law Amos Orndorff; several nieces, nephews, and cousins along with her church family who will miss her dearly.
Pallbearers will be Steven Orndorff, William Orndorff, Andrew Orndorff, Bob Lake, Jim Eastep, and Larry Baker.
