Janet Haga, 69, of Strasburg, Virginia passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at Blue Ridge Care (hospice) in Winchester.

Born in March of 1957 in Washington, D.C., Janet was the daughter of the late Abraham E. Gilman and Rhoda K. Gilman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her nephew Mitchell Liebeskind.

Janet retired (early) after many years working in the accounting department of Frank Parsons Paper Company in Cheverly, MD. In her retirement years, Janet continued to work part-time for a while for the Town of Front Royal and for the Warren County Public School System. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, and spending time with family and friends, especially with her great-nephew Matthias.

Janet is survived by her husband Richard, two sisters, Diane Liebeskind (Alvin) and Harolyn Campos (Luis), one brother, Harry Gilman, one nephew, Lee Liebeskind (Megan) and son Matthias, and one very special long-time friend, Priscilla Davis (Jim).

Services will be held at a later date.
