Janet Lee Venable Fish, 91, of Strasburg, VA passed away Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Shenandoah Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Fish was born in Strasburg, VA on October 10, 1934, a daughter of the late Fulton Gardner and Elizabeth Sulvilla Brown Venable. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church. Janet was the former manager of the Dollar General in Strasburg and worked as the counter clerk at People’s Drug Store for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Roger William Fish, Sr., a son Carl David Fish and her sisters Sarah Houff, Joyce Johnson, Mamie Putnam, and Irene Griffith.

Survivors Include her son Roger W. “Bill” Fish, Jr. (Pam), her two daughters, Sarah L. Orndorff (Daryl) of Woodstock and Ann R. Racey (Steven) of Woodstock; her brother James Venable (Judy) of Middletown, VA along with several step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service for Mrs. Fish will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Chris Flohr officiating. Following the service Mrs. Fish will be laid to rest by her late husband in Riverview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6-8P.M.
