Obituary

James Arthur "JR" Robinson, age 83, passed away on January 19, 2022 at his home in South Hill, VA.

A funeral service for Mr. Robinson will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory with interment to follow in Crestview Memorial Park. Full military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post 79.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

JR proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was past commander and current Judge Advocate of the American Legion Post 79 and active member of the Honor Guard. He served as chairman of the American Legion Department of Virginia Golf Committee. JR was also chairman of Boy State of the 5th district and Post 79. He was a member of Providence Methodist Church. JR was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He is preceded in death by Luther and Jessie Robinson, parents; Kathleen Stickley, sister; Betty Miller, sister; Luther M. Robinson, brother; and Trevor Robinson, grandson.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Nancy; daughter, Beverly Callahan (Mike); son, Jimmy Robinson (Cathy); daughter, Rhonda Dalton (David); brother, Darrell Bible; 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

The family would like to express their thanks for the wonderful care given by Hospice of Virginia.

The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to the American Legion Post 79 Honor Guard, in care of Lewis Wells, 203 Brook Avenue, South Hill, VA 23970.
