Howard Clifford Schluter, age 80, a resident of Strasburg, VA passed away Friday, July 16, 2021, at his residence.

A funeral service for Mr. Schluter will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 22, 2021, at Stover Memorial Chapel with Bishop Jay Harris officiating.  Mr. Schluter will be laid to rest beside his late wife Phyllis Schluter, at Panorama Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Schluter was born in Gowanda, New York on November 3, 1940, a son of the late Howard Charles and Florence Heitzenrater Schluter. He was a member of the Woodstock Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He retired from Crown Cork & Seal where he worked as a mechanic.  In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a son Michael R. Schluter and a grandson Jesse Seneca.

Survivors include his children Raymond C. Schluter of South Carolina and Tammy L. Mauck of Strasburg, VA; a grandson Christopher Himelright of West Virginia along with a sister Elenora Robertson of New York.

Pallbearers will be Duane Mauck, Ken Showalter, Tommy Jewell, John Meadows, Jason Wright and Robert Cline.

The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
