Henry Russell Reynard, Sr., age 84 of Strasburg passed Monday, February 2, 2009 at his residence. He was born in Sterling, Virginia on April 9, 1924 a son of the late George Brenton and Mertie Clem Reynard. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served in World War II aboard the LST 360. He was a member of the Strasburg United Methodist Church. Survivors include his loving wife, Cora Irene Arnold Reynard of Strasburg, VA; His children, Patricia Ann Sheldon and husband, Ronald of Paicines, CA, Henry R. Reynard, Jr. and wife, Lorraine of Luray, VA, Calvin Brent Reynard and wife, Toni of Tucson, AZ, and Amy Joy Shepley and husband, James of Winchester, VA; one brother, Francis Reynard and wife, Judy of Orlando, FL; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren A funeral service for Mr. Reynard will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday at the Stover Memorial Chapel with Rev. Steven Melester officiating. Burial will follow in Shenandoah Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Sheldon, Jr., Ronnie Eamich, Ronnie Loy, Mike Fallon, and Stu Plitman. The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home from 7-9 P.M. Wednesday evening.
