Obituary

Glenn E. McMinn, 85, of Edinburg, VA, passed away on October 22, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Greene County, PA, he graduated from Cumberland Township High School in 1959. After graduation he moved to Washington, DC where he met the love of his life, his wife of 62 ½ years, Drema. They are together again to celebrate their 66th wedding anniversary.

Glenn was a builder and contractor until his retirement.

Glenn loved coaching little league, especially the teams his son was on: baseball, basketball, and football. He enjoyed going to Old Dominion Speedway, NASCAR, auctions, bowling, the Pittsburg Steelers, and classic country music. He also loved going to watch his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in their plays, concerts, games, and sporting events. The last couple of years he enjoyed going to watch great-granddaughter, Brooklyn, play volleyball and softball. And he loved his quiet time on his John Deere tractor.

His biggest love was his family time with his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his and Drema’s siblings and their families. Glenn was a great husband, dad, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend.

Dad/Pap/Pappy was the patriarch of our family and will be loved and missed until we are all together again. Glenn and Drema always had a warm and loving home and welcomed friends of all the children and grandchildren and treated them as their own.

He is survived by his daughters Tammy McMinn and Glenda Selvage (Monk). His grandchildren Nichole Burns (Norman), Carl McMinn, Rachael Neff, and Katie Selvage; his great-grandchildren Lily, Brooklyn, Ellie, Carmella, Robert, Carl, Malakhi, Dadrian, Dontae, and Jeymeer; his sister Esther McMinn and brother Albert McMinn, Jr. (Marsha); sister-in-laws Nancy McMinn, Janice Eastep, Linda Buchanan (Jack), Sandy Snodgrass; brother-in-laws Harvey Zornes and Stan Cox. Special niece Brenda Ramey and special nephews Eric McMinn and Doug McMinn along with many other nieces and nephews. Special friends Dickie Krause, Dexter and Donna Mumaw, Pastor Katie Gosswein, Betty Helsley, and Debbie Thompson.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Drema, and son, Michael McMinn; parents Albert and Catherine McMinn; his brothers Gareth (Louise) McMinn, Donald McMinn; sisters Loretta (Everett) Riggs, Mabel McMinn, Shirley (Jack) Sanner, Bessie Anne McMinn; brother-in-laws Thomas Snodgrass and Donald Eastep; sister-in-laws Carolyn Zornes and Debra Cox; nieces Tricia, Vicki, and Beth; and nephews Brad and Butch.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 7 at 1pm at Zion Lutheran Church, 321 Headquarters Road, Edinburg, VA 22824 with Pastor Katie Gosswein officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and will have a time of food and fellowship immediately following the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Blue Ridge Care, 333 West Cork Street, #405, Winchester, VA 22601 or Zion Lutheran Church, 2471 Cave Ridge Road, Mt. Jackson, VA 22842.
