Glen Allen "Putty" Rickard, 76, a lifelong resident of Strasburg, VA passed away Thursday, October 31, 2024, at his home in Strasburg.

Putty was born in Woodstock, VA on October 5, 1948 a son of the late Glen Locke and Clara Catherine Rhodes Rickard.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Shirley Ann Rickard, Betty Lou Rickard, Bobby Lee Rickard and Goldie Marie Rickard.

He was a 1971 graduate of Strasburg High School and worked in the community as a craftsman and handyman.  Putty was a past member of the Strasburg Fire Department.  He was known for his creative woodworking and drawing abilities.  He loved life to the fullest, always lending a helping hand to anyone in need and will be greatly missed by the many friends who loved him dearly.

Putty is survived by his long-time companion Susan Darlene Ritenour, Mary Ritenour Stone, whom he raised as his own, her two sons Joel and Jack, along with several cousins.

A celebration of life gathering will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Stover Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m.
