Gladys V. Palmer Gladys Virginia Palmer, age 90, of Strasburg passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at her home. A funeral service will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Friday at Stover Funeral Home, Strasburg with Pastor Stephen Grimes officiating. Burial will be in Panorama Memorial Gardens, Warren County. Mrs. Palmer was born November 20, 1920 in Shenandoah County, a daughter of the late Walter O. and Ida Pearl Miller Putman. She was a homemaker and a member of Assembly of God Church, Strasburg. She was the wife of the late Paul M. Palmer. Surviving five daughters, Ida Mae Smith of Strasburg, Patricia Bromley of Woodstock, Jane Drummonds of Stephens City, Dorothy Welch of Front Royal and Fay Schindler of Toms Brook; three sons, Roland Palmer of Strasburg, Ray Palmer of Strasburg and Richard Palmer of White Post; twenty-three grandchildren, thirty-eight great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles M. Palmer and a granddaughter, Heather Wilkins. Pallbearers will be Kevin Smith, Rob Smith, Lance Jennette, Keith Drummonds, Bill Drummonds, Richie Palmer and Michael Palmer. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Poe, Chris Palmer, Timmy Palmer and Charles Palmer, Jr. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 7 to 9 P.M. and will meet there at 12:30 P.M. on Friday.
