Gary Wayne Ritenour 65, a resident of Strasburg, VA passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at Winchester Medical Center.

A Funeral Service for Gary will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 25, 2021, at Stover Memorial Chapel with Rev. Scott Priest officiating. Burial will follow in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Winchester, VA.  Full military honors will be conducted at Shenandoah American Legion Post 77, Strasburg, VA.

Gary was born in Winchester, VA on September 22, 1956, a son of the late Wayne Taylor and Betty Marie Jenkins Ritenour.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and attended Restoration Fellowship Church.  Gary loved the Yard Crawl, enjoyed helping his neighbors and was a chef.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Peggy Ann Ricketts Ritenour.

Survivors include his children, Andrew Smigielski of Mississippi and Mary Ritenour Stone of Springfield, VA; his grandchildren Caden, Joel, Jack, and Ethan; his sister Susan Ritenour and companion Glen Rickard of Strasburg, VA; two step-sisters Toni Coffman and Anita Strosnider; one stepson and four step-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Glen Rickard, Luke Ritenour, Anise Stead, George Daniels, David Hines, and Ronnie Wallace.

The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m.
