Obituary

Ernest “Ernie” Lee Pingley, 80, of Strasburg, VA passed away Friday, July 3, 2026, at his residence in Strasburg, VA.

Mr. Pingley was born in Lebanon Church, VA on July 16, 1945, a son of the late Fitzhugh Lee and Elizabeth Katherleen Lindamood Pingley. He was the owner and operator of Pingley Trucking as well as Pingley Concrete. In his younger years he served in the National Guard. Ernie loved his work, antique cars, his Harley Davidson, bluegrass and country music. He had a love for the outdoors be it fishing and hunting, camping, boating or tending to his horses. He also loved and adored his cats Casey and Percy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his five sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Pingley; his son, Daren Lee Pingley (Andrea); his grandchildren, Dora Pollard Funk (James) and Eliza Ann Pingley; and his great-granddaughter, Seraphina Funk.

All services for Mr. Pingley will be private. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
