Emmett Cornelius Smith, Jr. 87, a resident of Strasburg, VA passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at Winchester Medical Center.

A funeral service for Mr. Smith will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at Stover Memorial Chapel.  Burial will follow in Panorama Memorial Gardens.  Full military honors will be conducted by Shenandoah American Legion Post 77, Strasburg, VA.

Mr. Smith was born in Strasburg, VA on September 10, 1934, a son of the late Emmett Cornelius and Sarah Virginia Burner Smith, Sr.  Mr. Smith was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Riverton Corp. where he worked as a forklift operator. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Ruthetta Beeler Smith, and a daughter Delores Acevedo.

Survivors include his children Gary Wayne Smith, Debora Dawn Onzura (Angel, Sr.) and Steven Anthony Smith all of Strasburg, VA; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Angel Onzura, Sr., Angel Onzura, Jr., Gary W. Smith, Steven A. Smith, Steven "A.J." Smith, Jr., James Smith, Antonio "Tony" Tristan, and Adam Radford.  Donnie Bennett and Odin Albright will serve as an honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. on Monday evening.
