Elmer Lee "Junior" Mumaw, Jr. 91 of Strasburg, VA passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at the home of his daughter in Front Royal, VA.

A funeral service for Mr. Mumaw will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, January 30, 2022, at Stover Funeral Home with Rev. John Haynes, Jr. and Pastor Ingrid Chenoweth officiating.  Mr. Mumaw will be laid to rest privately.  You may view the service online via a link at www.stoverfuneralhome.com.

Mr. Mumaw was born in Strasburg, VA on March 30, 1930, a son of the late Elmer Lee Mumaw, Sr. and the late Zella Naomi Miller Mumaw.  Mr. Mumaw was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.  He was a member of the Methodist Men, a member of the Strasburg United Methodist Church, member of the Gideons, served as a lay speaker, retired from Johns Manfield and was an avid sports fan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters Roxie M. Stickley and Elizabeth Mumaw.

Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years Helen Virginia Windle Mumaw; his children Darlene "Cookie" Day (Randy) and Daryl "Beanie" Mumaw (Tina); his grandchildren Amy Gray (Ray), Elizabeth Mumaw (Louis), Rebekah Mumaw (John), Caleb Mumaw, Amanda Garrenton (Dan), Chris Day (Stacey), Greg Smith (Brittney), Kristi Smith, Adam Bodkin; great grandchildren Bristen, Ashton, Skylar, Kenzie, Trenton, Rose, Lily, Harper, Marissa, and Eli; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Sunday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service.

The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to the Chester Gap Vol. Fire Department, Blue Ridge Hospice, the local SPCA or a charity of one's choice.
