Ellen Irene Richard, 79, a resident of Toms Brook, VA passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at Warren Memorial Hospital in Front Royal, VA.

A graveside service for Ms. Richard will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 24, 2023, at St. Matthews Lutheran Church Cemetery with Pastor Beverly Funkhouser officiating.

Ms. Richard was born on January 29, 1944, a daughter of the late John Baxter and Odessa Loraine Bowman Richard.  She was a member of the Round Hill Church of the Brethren and worked as a waitress at the Virginian Truck Stop and Ben's Diner.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Pete Richard, Lucy Hepner, and Elsie Haun along with a nephew Larry Hepner.

Survivors include her nieces and nephews Judy M. Martin, John William "Billy" Haun (India), Jo Ann Orndorff (Kenny), Debbie Miller (Mike), William "Bubby" Richard (Evelyn), Gary Hepner, and Terri Hepner along with numerous great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
