David Warren Gandy, 84, of Strasburg passed away Friday, June 30, 2023, at Winchester Medical Center.

A graveside service for David will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2023, at Culpeper National Cemetery, at 305 US Avenue, Culpeper, VA  22701.

The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m.

He was born July 9, 1938, in Dixon, IL the son of James V. and Marvel Hobbs Gandy.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Judith Ann Scarbrough Gandy and his son David C. Gandy.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Professionally, he had worked at Washington Gas for thirty years.  He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, hunting, and working in his yard. He had a passion for walking, a wonderful sense of humor and was adored by all that met him. He was especially glad he was able to spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughter Janean R. Crown of Strasburg; daughter in law Terry Gandy of Fredericksburg, six grandchildren, David Gandy (Sylvia), Matthew Gandy (Sabrina), Michael Williams (Kelsey), Kenneth Williams (Ash), Jason Williams (Brianna), and Christopher Williams (Brooklyn); and four great-grandchildren, Madison, Logan, Jacob, and Raelyn, and many nieces and nephews.
