Obituary

Dallas Luther Pangle, Sr. 85 formerly of Strasburg, VA passed away Monday, February 6, 2023, in Maryland

A funeral service for Mr. Pangle will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at Stover Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Lebanon Church Cemetery.

Dallas was born on October 28th, 1937, in Strasburg Virginia. He was the fourth of six sons. He is survived by his two youngest brothers, Donald and Jerry. He leaves behind 5 children, along with 6 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 1 great great-granddaughter. He moved to Baltimore MD during his childhood but did not lose his Strasburg roots and visited home frequently. He decided to lay roots of his own in Maryland. Where he married his beloved bride and mother to his children Gail Katherine. They were married 58 years before her sorrowful passing in 2014.

After grade school, he completed 2 years of college where he learned to be a master of his trade. In his lifetime he built 3 homes for his family from start to finish. The 3rd home was where he spent the last 46 years and his final day.

His lifelong career began in commercial Construction in Washington DC where he worked for 55 years, 25 of which were spent at the World Bank. He quickly became a well-respected craftsman. At the bank he was adored and respected by all that enlisted his Assistance with carpentry needs. He ran the mill shop with pride and respect from those that worked beside him and under his supervision.

He was an avid hunter his whole life. He took great pride in breeding and training hunting dogs. Over the years he bred dozens of dogs. His favorite of them all was Mitsy, the English setter. A close second was Skip, the dog that could climb right up a ladder like a human. With the help of his hunting dogs, He hunted everything from to deer to squirrel and every furry and feathered thing in between.

Ford or Chevy, it did not matter. He was notorious for naming all of his pickup trucks Ol' blue.
